Powell Gardens!

Chet and I took the kids to Powell Gardens on the last day of the dinosaur exhibit the weekend before school started.....the idea was to have a fun family outing seeing the butterflys, flowers and dino statues, we would all be happy and have a great time!!!

The reality....it was hot, the kids were a bit on the whiny side, Chet wasn't thrilled to be there (although he did not complain at all) and it just wasn't what I had hoped. It wasn't a total loss, the kids enjoyed bits and pieces of it. We rode the bus from the garden to the front and it was SCARY. The driver was taking turns like he was in Nascar so we were greatful to leave there alive!!! I did get a few pretty pictures so here you go...........


Some of the pretty butterflies we saw....the green one on the bottom is an indian moon moth and Rylie just did a project at school at the end of last year about those!

And it was time to go home....can't you tell! This was on our way back to the car and boy was she mad. She wanted me to hold her and it was hot and she was perfectly capable of walking just not too happy about it!

A very very RARE quiet moment with Katelin!

Mama....I think I growed up!!!

Katelin: (in a very excited voice) "Mama, I can get in the bathtub and out of the bathtub all by myself. I think I growed up....did I grow up?"

Mama: "Yes Katelin I think you did grow up a little bit!"

Katelin: Did I grow up all the way?

Mama: "Not all the way yet but you did grow up some!"

Then she preceded to show me how she could get in and out of the tub all by herself!

My funny little girl...getting so grown up so so fast....I wish she would slow down just a little bit!!!

My little soccer star!!!

Katelin started micro soccer last Saturday and let me tell you...........she is the cutest little soccer player that I have ever seen!

 It was very Hot out and very sunny so I had to let her borrow my shades for a bit!

 She was sooo excited and then we get there and it's time for her to play and she did not want to and was trying to hide behind me. The kids tend to be clingier with me so I removed myself and had Daddy and Rylie go out with her. After a few minutes she was fine.

She did awesome, she probably listened and followed directions the best of all the kids, i'm sooo proud of her!

The kids took turns on the sidelines, Katelin passed the time by picking grass, love the pic with her hands on her hips (little miss thang) and you can see in the last picture that by the end of the hour the kids were pretty much done!!!

We are getting back into the swing of things with school, the girls start dance next week and then Rylie will start volleyball and Owen football in a few weeks so life will be busy busy. Unfortunately Katelin will miss her next 2 games.....we will be out of town next weekend and have outdoor family pictures set up for the following Saturday. Then the last Saturday of September my mom, Chet and I are walking a 5k in memory of a special little boy...I will share more on that soon, if anyone is interested in walking with us let me know!!!
