A Nice Summer Night....

and let me tell you....those have been very rare this HOT summer so when we finally had one we spent some time outside!

This kid should be nicknamed crash.....

First he puts on his helmet....

then he gets on his bike and then....

he crashes on purpose while making car and crashing noises.....it is pretty darn funny!!!!

Rylie showing off her new pj's....how beautiful is she?!?!?

And my other girl just being her cute self!

These 3 kids helped daddy give Cayenne a bath....she had given herself a mud bath earlier and desparately needed washed.....

while they did that....Owen played with his new car he bought with his own money!

We were also dog sitting sweet little Hope so she got to hang outside with us!

And to end the night Evan helped water flowers, then he decided to wash my car and finally he took an outdoor shower.....fun times!!!!

We try to take our kids to go do fun family stuff but some of our favorite memories just come from hanging out in our own yard together as a family.....we are so blessed to have such an incredible little family!!!!

We recently went to a birthday party for our nieces Mikayla and Kaylyn who just turned 8 and it was at a bounce house.....the kids had lots of fun!

I took the little kids to the little kid room and they had fun in there.....

while we were there....daddy and the big kids were in the arcade.....

It wasn't long until they were all ready to go the the big bounce houses and big sis Rylie helped Evan go down the slide......

but it wasn't long and he was ready to go all by himself.....and he went over and over and over again!

And this kid.....he was bouncing down the slide like a monkey!!!!

I tried to get pics of the birthday girls but man.....they were all over the place so this is the best I got!
So Happy Birthday Girls.....we love you!!!!

4th of July......

was over a month ago and i'm finally blogging about it!
Really not a lot to share, a pretty laid back day......the first couple of years we lived here we had big 4th of July parties at our house but it cost a lot of money and we got stuck with all the clean up so this and last year have been more laid back!

We took the kids to the pool for about an hour which was nice it was almost closing time and nobody was there.

Then we headed to the park to watch fireworks.....look at my beauties......

We had some time to kill so Daddy and O played some football....

We hung out by this big hill and what do kids like to do when there is a big hill.....

well.....roll down it.....

what else would they want to do?!?!?!?

This one kept trying to run off....good thing Daddy was there to chase him down (because mama ain't moving to quickly these days!)

We had some treats for the kids.....skittles....can you tell?!?!?

Then everyone found their spot.....

and we watched the show....which was truly spectacular this year!!!!!

30 Weeks

30 down and 10 to go.....we're in the homestretch now!
So since my 28 week post it's been quite a whirlwind, I went in for my 3 hour glucose test and found out the next day that I had failed it. What does that mean? Well, it means I have Gestational Diabetes so I met with the diabetes center the next day.

29 weeks

I first met with a nurse who gave me my glucose testing stuff and showed me how to use it. I learned I will be poking my fingers 5 times per day....first thing when I get up in the morning, 2 hours after each of my main meals and one last time before my bedtime snack. Then I met with the nutritionist who went over what foods I needed to eat and when. I basically need to make all my meals and snacks protein based and then I can have 3-4 servings of carbs with each meal and 1-2 with each snack. I basically have to eat like a newborn would.....every 2-3 hours so I have to have 3 meals and 3 snacks a day.

As long as I can maintain my blood glucose levels with diet then it's all good but if I can't then I will most likely go on insulin. I have been doing pretty good, for the most part all my numbers are below where they need to be except for my morning fasting numbers which are the hardest to control so I have a feeling the insulin will be in my near future. There is also the chance I will have to meet with a perinatologist (high risk doctor) but hopefully not....I would rather just listen to Jeane!

I, of course, started researching GD and reading up on how it can effect baby......it can cause babies to be bigger which leads to higher incidence of c-section so me already being a VBAC that is not good. It can also cause the lungs to develop slower, higher chances of baby going to the NICU and a higher rate of still birth. So it caused me some stress and concern. So I was worried about Kinley and feeling guilty for bringing all of this on her. And really I was just downright emotional.

So I had a sono and appointment with Jeane on Wednesday. I happen to be friends with Jeane on facebook so she had already seen my worries and concerns that I had posted. About the first words out of her mouth were that I had not caused this, there is nothing I could have done to have prevented it. She also clarified that all the risk to babies are more for uncontrolled GD and as long as it is controlled then Kinley should be healthy. As far as the lung development.....as long as she doesn't come real early it shouldn't be a concern and I have never had a baby born before it's due date.....they like it in there and are in no hurray to come out. So as she usually does, Jeane put me at ease with all my worries and concerns. I know my hormones are going crazy and it's making me super emotional but I feel a whole lot better about the whole thing.

I will have weekly sonos and visits with Jeane from here on out just to monitor Kinley's well being and how i'm doing controlling the GD. So lots of peeks at my baby girl, they will mostly just be quick sonos but every 4th on they will check her growth. My placenta has moved up so that is not an issue and on Wednesday Kinley had her feet up at her face again and she had moved to the head down position. She was also measuring a little small which is a good thing since I do have GD.

It's been a challenge adjusting to all the changes, not being able to have my pepsi has been tough and I had about a week with horrible headaches....my head was throbbing, it was horrible but they seem to be better now. But whatever it takes to get my girl here healthy and happy!

On the plus side....I lost a pound and hopefully I will drop a little more and maybe I won't gain anymore....that would be awesome! And I get to see my baby girl every week as she grows though that can never compare to when I get to actually hold her and touch her!

Here is my testing kit....I poke my finger with the black thing and then on a testing strip in the pink thing I put a drop of my blood and 5 seconds later it tells me my blood glucose levels.

And this is me at 30 weeks!!!!

So between getting used to the GD and working our butts off trying to paint and move furniture to get the kids all settled in their right rooms before school starts.....life has been busy and blogging has taken a backseat but I hope to get some more post done this week and catch up. We have Owen and Evan's room pretty much done.....we did a sports theme and got them a bunk bed (which Evan slept in for the first time last night and he did great) so I will be posting with pics of their new room very soon. We also got Katelin and Kinley's room painted but thats as far as we have gotten in there and we plan to get Rylie's room painted next weekend.....so stay tuned!!!!!

Rylie's birthday slumber party!!!!

We decided to go with a spa party this year and I think it turned out to be a lot of fun!

The invitations:

I went shopping and got lots of fun spa items:

And we put them all to good use, we did green facials, soaked feet in tubs with feet salts, painted finger and toenails and so on:

I even cut cucumber for the girls to put on their eyes:

Thank goodness for Angie and Natalie who hung out and helped me with the girls:

Then we did presents which Rylie has filled out thank you cards and her slacker mama has yet to mail them.....definitely on my to do list this week:

Rylie is not much of a cake eater so we had cupcakes and she had me make another dump cake for the party:

Making a wish (I had a really pretty 1 candle and 0 candle but I managed to lose the 0 somehow so we just did 10 regular ones):

Daddy even joined in on some of the fun:

The Girls....Shayne, Haylie, Katelin, Liadon, Payton, Kylee, Abby and Ry!

Being goofy:

Yeah Right....I wish they had gone to sleep this easily!

This is how they really slept, well Owen was the first to fall asleep and the girls tried putting cool whip on him so he came to my room told on them and got in bed with us!

The next morning they wanted to go for a nature walk but it was just too hot so we gave them go kart and 4 wheeler rides instead (and yes we had parental permission from all parents).

This is what I put together for each girl to take home, I thought they turned out pretty cute!

The next day Rylie hadn't had enough so she did mask on her and Owen!

and then she treated her mama to a pedicure!

This was our first slumber party and besides one little spat it was pretty much drama free and a good time by all.....just not sure if I would want to do more than 1 every year or so. Glad my girl had a good time.....we love you Miss Rylie Jo!!!!!

28 Weeks!

Do you know what that means?????
I have officially entered my third trimester which means things will go quickly from now on!
I will see Jeane every 2 weeks until 36 weeks and then I will be weekly!
And that makes for a quick final 3 months, well at least 2 months....I think the last month always lingers on a bit because by then most people are usually done being pregnant....I know I am!

So I had my appointment today and I got to drink this lovely drink......

It's basically sugar and it is for a gestational diabetes test. I have never had GD but I have failed the test before, I did with Evan and maybe even with Katelin....can't remember for sure. But if you fail you go back for the 3 hour test where you sit and sit and sit so you can have your blood drawn every hour for 3 hours so I should find out tomorrow if I have to do that or not!
You get to choose your flavor of drink.....orange, fruit punch or lemon (I think). I've always heard horror stories at how nasty these drinks are so when I was pregnant with Rylie I chose orange and it wasn't good but it wasn't anything horrible so I have just always stuck with orange!

While i'm sure Jeane had probably already told me this, I just didn't recall it but I have a low lying placenta which is most likely no big deal. Just means my placenta implanted low and has a small risk of placenta previa (when the placenta covers the cervix) but usually as your uterus grows the placenta moves up so I will have a sonogram at my next appointment just to make sure it is not an issue!

My blood pressure was slightly high which I never have high bp but when taken a 2nd time it was fine so another no big deal! Weird though because my kids weren't with me and if they were I would definitely expect high bp because a doctor's office is my most dreaded place to take my precious little darling children!

I also talked to her about my uterine rupture concerns and as usual Jeane puts all my worries at ease! I'm not so worried about having one as I am about knowing I am having one. Because me being who I am.....I research things and I kept coming across over and over again how a womens uterus can rupture and nobody know it....well the outcome can be really really bad for baby and mom! Since I am higher risk for it....I will have all my usual monitoring which includes internal monitors and such so we should definitely know if it happens and I will get a c section in plenty of time to have a healthy baby girl! And there is nobody I trust more than Jeane to be taking care of Kinley and I.....so no more worries....Okay okay...how about a lot less worries!

My weight....Ugh....I officially weigh more than I ever have in my life....I am 1lb over what I weighed when I delivered Evan....I haven't gained too much so far just started out with a little extra....I hate it but no sense in stressing on it now, I can't exactly diet right now so.......I guess I will just deal with it!

How am I feeling.....Big but not too uncomfortably big just yet and it is hot.....temps have been in the high 90's all the way up to 109.....it sucks! It was hot the summer I had Evan too but not this hot. We are in a drought, there's been no rain and it is just HOT! I am swollen some. I've been having bad insomnia the past week or so and now i'm beginning to get restless leg syndrome which probably adds to the insomnia. Kinley is active moving all the time....she was head down at my 4D ultrasound but Jeane said she is breech right not....again no big deal....she has plenty of time to flip and flop around in there!

Chet's been taking my picture every week....I cringe when I look at them to share with the world (or at least the few of you who read this).....I am not one of those pretty people, i'm just lucky enough to have a husband who thinks I am! But I really want to document this pregnancy so here is weeks 25-28.......

And yes my hair is almost always pulled back and I usually have a tank top on....did I mention it is HOT!!!!!

So I think I have rambled on long enough..... that is my update for now! I pretty much have everything I need for Kinley Ryann.....yes we have picked a middle name, I wanted to get it all done early so now just need to get bedrooms switched around, clothes washed and buy some itty bitty diapers....can't wait to hold her!!!!
