Today is Grammy's Birthday, we hope she enjoyed her day...........
How did we celebrate for Grammy today......well we got her some pretty purple flowers (her fave color) and we all went to Strouds for dinner.................
I don't know if any of you have ever been to Strouds before but we have been going there since I was a little girl, it's not just a in and out place, there is always at least an hour wait and they have the best chicken fried steak and cinnamon rolls. It is also in North Kansas City inside an old cabin built in the 1800's (they have a location in Fairway but it's just not the same!)
We usually go on my birthday which is December 23 but we didn't make it this year (the first year in a long time we haven't been there on my bday) Despite not going there, I had a great birthday because I got....
the best fuzzy robe ever, my beautiful picture frame and the willow tree nativity I wanted......anyway this isn't about me so back to Grammy's birthdat at Strouds!
So we had 7 kids and at least an hour wait so it was a bit stressful especially because of a couple of onery boys named Owen and Dylan but the very nice hostess intrigued them, telling them how the place was supposedly haunted and how a 6 year old girl had died in the small room (which used to be a bedroom) all those years ago. Supposedly people have claimed to see this little girl at the restaurant!
Guess where we sat for dinner???? Yeap, in that room but thankfully we didn't see any ghost!
However in the waiting area there is this door..............
I've always wondered what was up there??? Well if you know Dylan then it won't surprise you that he asked what was up there and if he could go up there to see! As we were leaving the owner was nice enough to take the kids up the winding staircase, Owen decided not to go but Hay, Ry, Dylan & Katelin went and they were gone for a bit and I was beginning to wonder???? But then.............
they came back down safe and sound! The office is up there, the kids did say it was kinda creepy!!!
So Grammy............we hope you know how very much loved you are!!!!! We are blessed to have you as our mom and these 7 kids couldn't ask for a better Grammy!!!! Happy Birthday!!!
